Sorry it has been a few days since the last post however, I have been very busy, not actually taking to many pictures unfortunately but all of the other work I mentioned in an earlier post. I have taken some pictures, my nephew Nick and his wife Sarah had a lovely little baby, Ella, back in August and I have taken a few pictures for them. The portrait session went ok except Ella fell asleep and we couldn’t wake her, it was hilarious we tried everything to wake her but she was having none of it, so we took a selection of portraits with her asleep. Sarah suggested that if we try to get Ella changed she dosn’t like that so that may wake her after all she had been asleep for about 20 mins and nothing else would do the trick, anyway to cut a long story short this worked and we did manage to get a selection of nice portraits for them.
Here is a montage of pictures.
I am quite proud of myself I have managed to fix my computer, it seemed to turn itself off about a month ago and would not come back on, I tried shouting at it I even tried kicking it but nothing, not a whimper, not a sausage, nothing. I don’t use it that much since I changed over to Macs but it is still useful for the odd program that only works on a pc. Anyway it was suggested to me that it was probably the power supply that needed replacing. So off I went to PC World bought a power suppy (you would not beleive how many cables and plugs ooze out of a power supply it looks very daunting) and with a screwdriver in hand I set too, believe it or not 15 mins later and with fingers crossed I turned the computer on and to my amazement everything worked fine, If you ever have to change a power supply have a go yourself it is much easier than you would imagine.
Most of Saturday was spent printing brochures and generally sorting everything ready for the wedding show in Southampton on Sunday. As you will know if you have read earlier posts we should have had a wedding on Saturday but it was cancelled at the last minute (very sad) and it was such a beautifl day. The people that did get married on Saturday must have been delighted with the weather.
The wedding exhibition at the Devere Grand Harbour Hotel went extremely well we met lots of lovely people all excited about future weddings. I was a bit suprised how many people were enquiring about 2008 still we gave out lots of brochures and chatted with lots of brides so I consider it to have been a great success. I must say a big thank you to Yvonne for organising the day she really knows how to put on an exhibition. This was the last one for this year although they start again on the 7th Jan 2007 back at the Grand Harbour then the Solent Hotel in Whiteley on the 14th Jan and the Botley park on the 18th Feb a very busy start to the new year.
Monday started off well with 18 holes of golf (didn’t play that well) the weather was perfect for golf hardly a breath of wind and a very mild temperature, it was great. Arrived back at work about 11:30am answered all of the telephone calls deleted all of the 32 emails offering to improve my sex life or sell me a fantastic watch or reduce my mortgage or make me rich by letting me know about the latest stock that is just about to go through the roof. Then set to work on the pictures for my nephew I also sorted out a couple of orders that have been hanging around for some time.
The shock news of the day was Fred Elliott of Coronation Street died at Audrey’s house I didn’t expect that!
Poor old Fred I liked him, oh well life goes on and I had better get back to work I still have 2 weddings to sort out and make proof books.
